Gadhafi’s regime is crumbling. The world can now watch another disgusting dictatorship fall. Maybe Syria and other countries/regions that oppress and kill their citizens will think twice.
The Middle East uprising over the last year is an awakening and a reminder that good triumphs over evil, suppression will no longer be tolerated, and that together individually and collectively people can make a difference.
Gadhafi’s sons have been captured. Saif is to be transported to Haig to stand trail for crimes against humanity. Gadhafi’s whereabouts are still unknown.
Will he die fighting or will he be captured or surrender? A mad man who deliberately killed and tortured his people, looted his country of what is now stated as 30-50 billion dollars now frozen.
Will other areas and dictators learn? Will a new order and day come where societies can prosper without fear of death and torture.
Some now question the future for a region that could end up in civil war. These fears are legitimate and warranted but every person and nation has the right to self govern and live without fear. The rebels that gathered and eventually became more organized with the help of Nato have shown the world that they can work together.
The west must assist in their quest for freedom but they must also be sensitive to their right to try.
The awakening has continued. The world can celebrate.
